Big Boar, Little Piglets

Checking in with the three day old piglets.

Once again, this is from last week. I'm still figuring out my workflow and post timing for my new social media app . . . I'm going to be an influencer in my own realm.

First Switchback Surprise Farrowing

I was not prepared for this farrowing . . .

At breakfast a week ago I noticed this sow with a prolapse and went on a daring search and rescue search for her piglets.

Merely a Flesh Wound

The iodine helped clean out the wound and it's looking pretty good. I'm pretty sure this guy will be fine, but I'll keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Roscoe Charged with Assault III

We were enjoying evening chores, checking out the new piglets, and talking about how nice Mom's big boar is when Mini-Squatch IV realized that the big boar didn't have an actual name.

He shall henceforth be known as Roscoe.

Unfortunately, shortly thereafter I noticed a large flesh wound in another pig's bacon. A 5" long and deep gash that could only have been made by a very large tusk . . . which is attached to Roscoe's head.

Cull Peas for Football Season

Searching for Pirate

I haven't seen Pirate in almost a week . . . So I decided to start searching in earnest for him this morning. My search led to a Sunday morning stroll through almost all of Sasquatch Wallows. Still no sign of the missing boar . . .

Saturday with Sasquatch

As I was enjoying my Saturday morning coffee on the couch, Mini-Squatch IV alerted me to the fact that Chupi had escaped the loading paddock; these are the shenanigans that followed . . .

Piggle's May 6, 2026, Farrowing

I found the farrowing! Piggle farrowed on May 6, 2026. She gave birth to 12, three didn't make it past the first few hours. But the remaining nine include the mysterious death of The White Weaner and epic survival of the The Runt.

Which makes The Runt 12 weeks old as of today.
