Occupy Till He comes

In pastor Brett's most recent Prophecy Update he referenced the term "Occupy till He comes". The term stuck with me this week and I was thinking of using it as a tagline for Mountain Man Cult: Occupy Till He Comes.

The saying comes from Luke 19:13 (KJV) in the Parable of the Ten Minas:

"And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come."

In the older English of the KJV, “occupy” does not mean to sit idly or hold a position passively. It means to do business, trade, engage in commerce, or put resources to productive use. The underlying Greek word is pragmateuomai (related to the English word “pragmatic”), which means to carry on business or trade.

The phrase has long been used in Christian teaching and preaching (for example by J.C. Ryle and many others) as a practical motto…

Checking in on the Ducklings

Puddle's seven ducklings continue to do well. Autzen has only hatched one and I'm thinking that's all there is going to be.

Punch You in the Eye

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

~Mike Tyson

This morning things did no go to plan . . . I spent over two hours doing morning chores as I tried to wrangle three escaped weaners and a goat.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

A little over a week since the two piglets from the surprise farrowing were born, they have rejoined the herd at First Switchback. Everything appears to be copacetic this morning . . .

Big Boar, Little Piglets

Checking in with the three day old piglets.

Once again, this is from last week. I'm still figuring out my workflow and post timing for my new social media app . . . I'm going to be an influencer in my own realm.

First Switchback Surprise Farrowing

I was not prepared for this farrowing . . .

At breakfast a week ago I noticed this sow with a prolapse and went on a daring search and rescue search for her piglets.

Merely a Flesh Wound

The iodine helped clean out the wound and it's looking pretty good. I'm pretty sure this guy will be fine, but I'll keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Roscoe Charged with Assault III

We were enjoying evening chores, checking out the new piglets, and talking about how nice Mom's big boar is when Mini-Squatch IV realized that the big boar didn't have an actual name.

He shall henceforth be known as Roscoe.

Unfortunately, shortly thereafter I noticed a large flesh wound in another pig's bacon. A 5" long and deep gash that could only have been made by a very large tusk . . . which is attached to Roscoe's head.
